Once upon a time, in the summer of 2019,  a book-mad woman opened an independent bookshop in Clitheroe, Lancashire. She had great plans for the shop but they all went out of the window when the shop had to close in March 2020 due to the Coronavirus and lockdowns.

She battled bravely on through more openings and closings of 2020 and 2021 and thought that 2022 would be the year to actually flourish.

Unfortunately the post-covid effect on the economy and people who had got used to buying from A****n meant that customers were few and far between.

Each month the woman said “It’ll get better next month”, but it didn’t and as shops around her started to close she realised that it was time to re-think her dream of owning a bookshop.

Her ambition now is to finish that first novel, finish off the house she’s been renovating since lockdown and buy a motorhome to travel with her two Labradors.

But, she’s not done with books quite yet, they’re in her soul you see, so she’ll be continuing with her Bookshop.org page; reading and recommending books on social media and selling book subscriptions (amongst other things) online.
